Beesenstedt Palace
Odd, stately, morbid, wild and romantic! !

20 km northwest of Halle (Saale)

Beesenstedt Palace was erected in the 19th century as a manor and was hip party place of the aristocratic haute-volée in this region. In GDR times it was used as a training home by the fat cats of the communist labour union.
Nowadays it is conducted by Armin Mey and Lala Films Association.
Since years there are big folk dance events - so finally let's make the place a tango Mekka!

Passing the pompous arcads on the main entrance you enter the giant foyer and more than 100 salons, chambers, wintergardens, balkonies and attics.
The furnishing is like a ride through several historical eras. You can find anything from ancient period furniture, neo-classical hotel equipement unto socialist fittings in the red salon.

What it is:
• an odd mixture of pomp, ars vivendi an creative messy flair
• lots of nice and funny decorated chambers with 70 beds and 50 matrasses and a dormitory
• fat chandeliers, romantic firesides, comfy sofas and festive tables
• sauna, chill out room, outdoor pool, billiard
• a beautyful main hall with balkony, lounge and wintergarden
• two spacious foyers for dancing
• several nice salons for chilling, practicing, chattering and for your ideas!

Surrounding:
Beesenstedt is situated nearby the northern valley of the river Saale with its rough romantic charme. That's the landscape of my childhood, it changes from wild cliffy rocks to romantic meadows with old fruit trees.

The idyllic little town Wettin with its renaissance castle, the gotic Templer chapel in Muecheln and the romantic villages Kloschwitz, Dobis and Rothenburg are absolutely worthwhile to visit.
If you are in the mood for a nice walk, you can march from Beesenstedt to Kloschwitz through a lovely valley untill you reach the river Saale.

I'm looking forward to you! CU soon, Mirjam!
